FANMADE

A podcast for fans who make films
and filmmakers who are fans.

What is the FANMADE Film podcast?

The standard of fanmade films has gotten so high in terms of SFX, original scores, acting, and storytelling, that many are now on an equal footing with cinematic releases. Rachel Pearson, a self-confessed nerd and avid Star Wars fangirl, along with her guests who are filmmakers, artists, actors, and crew, discuss why and how this surge in fan film content is happening. Professional filmmaker guests offer listeners inspiration for their own projects, as well as highlighting the creators, production companies and artists who are doing awesome film work.

The FANMADE Film Podcast is a dive into the roots of fan passion, through the lens of professional filmmaking. Rachel and her guests share practical filmmaking advice and tap into the experience and learnings of filmmakers' careers.

Imperials is not just a Star Wars fan film but is also a Rebels fan film. An animated story that turns the idea around and shows the other side of the Galactic Civil War. Myself and creator, Damien Valentine, spoke about the incredible iClone technology he uses to create this and his Heir To The Empire series.

Exciting news! Co-host Chris is with me for this episode in which we meet Jaime Benning of filmumentaries.com! Chris and I go way back and one of the few film things we don't fight about is Jaws! Fun fact: Jaws in my favourite film. Jaime is like a super sleuth when it comes to digging out ALL the most amazing stories, interviews, facts and figures of our beloved blockbusters. Chris and I completely fan-girled over Jaime!

Who, me?

I'm Rachel and I love talking to people who know more about things than I do. It's a great way to learn. Film is my first love, Star Wars a close second. I adore cleverly written stories that involve lightsabers, magic, aliens and/or dragons, and people who tell me all about how they created them.

By night I host the FANMADE Film Podcast, by day I am a digital marketer and creative for a digital agency.

As well as following FANMADE on social media, how about you check out what bizarre stuff I get up to on Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Let's be film friends.
